Johann Georg Reißmüller wurde am 20. Februar 1932 in Leitmeritz, Tschechoslowakei, geboren und ist jetzt, 86-jährig, am 10. Dezember 2018 in Frankfurt am Main, gestorben. Reißmüller war ein deutscher Journalist und antikommunistischer Fex als Mitherausgeber der Frankfurter Allgemeinen Zeitung (FAZ).

Reißmüller wurde 1932 in Leitmeritz im Sudentenland geboren und verbrachte dort seine Kindheit. In jungen Jahren nahm Reißmüller Gesangsunterricht. Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg wurde er 1946 aus seiner Heimat vertrieben und gelangte nach Vorpommern, wo er in der Oberschule mit Kommunisten in Konflikt geriet. Ende 1950 floh er nach West-Berlin, wo er als Jurist promoviert wurde. Anschließend war er von 1957 bis 1961 Redakteur der Tübinger Juristenzeitung (JZ). 1961 wechselte Reißmüller zur FAZ und war für diese von 1967 bis 1971 Korrespondent in Belgrad. Seine Themen waren der osteuropäische Kommunismus, der jugoslawische Sozialismus sowie die dortigen Kirchen. 1974 wurde er einer der fünf Herausgeber der FAZ.

Reißmüller war einer der schärfsten Pressestatthalter der USA-Besatzer in der ersten Bundesrepublik Deutschland bei der amerikanisch gestimmten FAZ, mit seinen katholischen, antikommunistischen und besonders auch Jugoslawien zersetzenden Betreibungen.

Reißmüller trat 1991, vor allem in seinen Artikeln in der FAZ, nachdrücklich für die völkerrechtliche Anerkennung von Kroatien und Slowenien ein. 1995 wurde ihm die Ehrendoktorwürde der Universität Zagreb verliehen. Am 1. März 1999 endete seine Zeit als Herausgeber der FAZ.

Vom Verlag Zweitausendeins wurde eine Gesangs-CD mit Reißmüller und dem Titel Uns gefällt diese Welt – Lieder der frühen DDR produziert.

Willi Winkler nachruft FAZ-Herausgeber Reißmüller am 13. Dezember 2018: „… Er holte die beiden begnadeten Zeichner Achim Greser und Heribert Lenz in den Politikteil der FAZ. Was also bleibt? Das bleibt.“

Heute vor 25 Jahren brach schrittweise die Herrschaft der Kommunistischen Partei und ihrer Staatsführer zusammen. Der Schriftsteller Vaclav Havel trat als Sprecher und Leitsymbol für die Tschechen auf. Den Ausschlag gaben die jungen Stadtmenschen, Studenten und Künstler, die Theater-Schauspieler streikten und ließen die Vorstellungen ausfallen – man sollte es wissen, dass auch damals und auch heute politisches Mitdenken und Hinstehen, wenn man dran ist, schlicht Staatsbürgerpflicht ist.

1989 erfüllten die Tschechen ihre Pflicht – dafür haben sie jetzt die freie Demokratie. Die heutige demokratische Republik Tschechien kann sich als NATO und EU-Mitglied selbstbestimmt „kümmern“. Es bedeutet auch Härte für Alle, die zum Selbstkümmern unbegabt sind. Es bedeutet, dass die Befreiung gleichzeitig eine gesellschaftliche Trennung zeitigt: Die Schwächeren sind arm, die Stärkeren prosperieren.

Dietmar Moews meint: Ich habe keinen Zweifel, dass die Tschechen sowohl selbsbestimmt wie auch tüchtig genug sein können, in eine erfolgreiche Zukunft hinzuarbeiten.

Keiner hat ein Recht, daran zu zweifeln. Auch die ihre stalinistischen Parteigeklüngel verlustigen Schranzen der Tschechen dürfen nicht an der bedeutenden Geschichte und den außerordentlichen Leistungen von Tschechen in der Geschichte vorbeischauen:
